This bass has Ken Smith not KSD electronics and pickups giving it the Smith tone all day. If you notice the pickup placement, it is a little closer to the bridge than Smiths giving it more of the bark Smith owners love. I have owned everything from the BSR Smith to the GN and I must say this bass has the authentic Smith growl.
